Gail Wiley Designs - Photo Restoration
It is a shame when treasured photos are damaged, faded or torn. Never fear, it isn't the end. I can scan your original photo and repair the damage. I can repair almost anything except blurriness. I can also add, subtract, change color, lighting, background, etc. Perhaps you have a special occasion such as a catalog, brochure, reunion, anniversary, or maybe a funeral dinner, and need to have several photos grouped together. This is not a problem. I have a couple of lovely groupings at the bottom of this page.
Prom Photo before * Prom Photo After

Photo aged and discolored * Restored color and sharpness
This prom photo was badly damaged. The customer wanted a photo of just her, so I took out the date, repaired the background and added some tone and depth to the composition. Click for larger image. This photo was sun-damaged over the years and the color faded. I brightened the overall photo and added touches of color to the clothing and curtains. Click for larger image
Photo to busy * Focus on couple
Slight damage * Added richness along with repair
This customer needed this photo to be less busy with more focus put on the couple. I blurred out the background and used it as a backdrop giving them the attention, not the stairs. Click for larger image.

This is a simple restoration. The photo just needed some brightening and a little cleaning up. I added a duotone to add some richness.

serious sun damage * restored detail and better cropping
photo cut out of original composition * New background added to cutout
This was a badly stored Polaroid. I converted it to grayscale and then multiplied the pixels to bring back the detail. This is one of my better saves. Click for larger image. Poor Lucille, someone had cut her out of the background of the original photo. I scanned in the image, did some repair, and gave her a new background. Click for larger image.

Photo torn and pieces are missing

Final restored version, seams fixed, missing information restored and with a close up of the customers grand father

This one was a 36 inch wide World War I Platoon photo taken in Texas. It was stored rolled up and was broken into several sections. Each section was scanned in, puzzled together and the seams repaired. The image in the oval on the far left is a close-up of the customer's grandfather. I loved working on this project. Family grouping for a funeral service * grouping for a fashion website * Grouping for a family history
